Do you still want to participate in the Podcaster Central Forum? | Views: 551 |

Penny Haynes | | I'm trying to gauge interest in the Podcaster Central Forum on Ryze right now. There are so many other social networks and forums available now, and we all are limited on time, I wonder if you guys have just moved yourselves to Facebook, LinkedIn, etc., or if you have moved from a focus on podcasting to "social media".
Where are you doing most of your networking now?
And do you still want to keep the Podcaster Central network active here at Ryze?
Thanks for helping me make this decision.

Dave Jackson | | I always look at the topics via email, and if I can contribute I usually do.

Naneinee Ross | | I'm a beginner podcaster! I would like to have this network available! I'm also on Facebook, but the market is slightly different. On Ryze I can receive tips and advice. Where as on Facebook, I tend to give tips or advice. I'm starting to warm-up to the audio podcasting, although I'm trying to differiate myself. Im going with the flow until another innovated idea hits me.
I have checked out some of your video and website. You make is look so easy. How do you do it? Private Reply to Naneinee Ross |

Penny Haynes | | Hi, Naneinee. That's a great point, and yes, Ryze typically has been much friendlier, more casual and open than the other sites.
Audio and video are very easy IF you learn to do bite-sized steps one at a time. Many people get overwhelmed with the high-end, fancier software programs, and then give up on producing multimedia. So my specialty is making things simpler, including simpler software to do it and weekly classes to help you do it on a continual basis. I actually do almost all of my audios and videos with the Commercial Creation Center (CCC) software instead of my Camtasia, Adobe Premiere Elements or CS3, SoundForge, etc.
You are free to download the CCC software (link is in my sig line), and since you are in my Network, I will extend the trial period to 2 weeks, if you are interested. That means you can also attend 2 of my weekly mastermind classes for free as well.
OK, so perhaps there is still a reason to keep the Forum open. I'll start sharing tips and information on here then and invite the more experienced Podcasters to share their information, so newbies can learn more about how to do it.

George Smyth | | I just forget to check in. I monitor other message boards via RSS - does this board have a feed address?

Naneinee Ross | | Thanks, that will be awesome! Currently, I'm using Audacity, but I'm always in the market for a more effective and creative software. I will definately download the trial software and would love the opportunity to attend the mastermind classes.
Thanks, PennyPrivate Reply to Naneinee Ross |

Thanks for jerking our chain on this, Penny.
I was wondering what had happened to this valuable forum.
In deciding where to best invest my time? .... My conclusion is Twitter, My blog and a couple of Ryze forums.
Each has it's own unique function.
You post has prompted me to create a "Welcome to Twitter" vid for my profile. ... Thanks for the reminder.
Bestest.

Penny Haynes | | Great question, George. I can't find anything in their FAQ about it, and kinda doubt it, but did send an email to customer service. Although our forum posts are public and can be found in search engines, I don't know if someone can see the entire series of posts unless they are logged in.
Anyone else know if Ryze offers a public RSS feed for forum posts?

George Smyth | | Penny -
I track about two dozen photography blogs/websites, as well as half a dozen boards on my DRiPInvesting.org website and there would simply be no way of doing so without RSS. If there was a feed to this forum then I could add it to my reader and better track what is going on, instead of trying to remember to occasionally log in. Just my suggestion.

Penny Haynes | | George, you can change your settings to get email notifications when someone posts something, or are you completely anti-email? :)

Teddy Towncrier | | George .... FWIW ... I use Eudora as an eMail client and have set the extensive filter features to display folder icons along the bottom as Ryze notifications arrive.
I can also have audio alerts and auto-redirects to my PDA when replies to advertisments arrive.
I can't imagine a better process.

Penny Haynes | | Customer support says they are "looking at them as a future enhancement".
