Lamar Morgan 954-603-7901 | | Tonight I was informed I have a unique opportunity coming up on Saturday, Nov. 17th. I get to interview Jon Provost, "Timmy" from the TV series, "Lassie." He has just come out with his autobiography, "Timmy's In The Well." I have never met Jon Provost, even though he lives approximately an hour away from me here in Northern California. However, I have communicated back-and-forth with both him and his wife numerous times. Jon Provost is no little boy any longer. He is almost as old as I am with grown children. My how time flies!
It seems like it was only about a month or so ago that I actually saw Jon Provost on Fox's "O'Reilly Factor" being interviewd by Bill O'Reilly. Now, it's my turn to do it with a Talkshoe podcast. Normally, my podcasts do not have a very large audience. I wonder if I put out a press release and post to Craigslist that I will actually be interviewing a TV legend that will make any difference in the number of folks showing up to be on the call?
Would anyone like to give me some advice on interviewing "Timmy?"

Lamarr.
Congrats on landing this prize.
On the occasions I've been interviewed; I like to get my 'script' into the interviewer's hands immediately upon date confirmation, again on the morning of the shoot and I also take copies with me to the interview.
Hosts seem to appreciate not having to think too much and makes it easier for me to focus on what I wish to talk about.
Shoot him a quick note and ask him if he has a script or what points would he prefer to focus upon?
and as the host; PUHLLEEEZE remember to take your specs. (I landed a juicy show a few years ago and not only did the hostess arrive without my 'script' but she had also left her spectacles behind).
Bestest.

Your suggestion is outstanding. Want to help me spread the word? I think Jon would love to have other podcasters interview him on their shows as well - provided he has the time. This fall is the 50th anniversary of the "Lassie" TV show's debut. I see the photo of Jon Provost today and I think to myself, "Man, you are up in years." Well, guess what? I am older than he is. Ouch!
Here is more information about Jon's autobiography:
TIMMY’S IN THE WELL: The Jon Provost Story
By Jon Provost and Laurie Jacobson
Fall, 2007 marks the 50th anniversary of Jon Provost’s debut as Timmy Martin on “Lassie”. Just 7, he was already a seasoned professional, having appeared in ten films and TV shows with stars like: Grace Kelly, Bing Crosby, Jane Wyman, Anita Ekberg, William Holden. Both Hollywood and NY critics named him the top kid movie actor of 1958. Yet, while Jon portrays part of an idyllic television family, he and his own family are deeply and irrevocably changing as a result of his skyrocketing fame.
The exciting and chaotic life of TV’s first child superstar is told against the backdrop of ‘50s and ‘60s Hollywood: the collapse of the studio system, the burgeoning industry of television, rock and roll, the Sunset Strip and a life as far from the Martin farm as Jon could get.
Peppered with names like: Lucille Ball, Elvis Presley, Natalie Wood, Kurt Russell, Sal Mineo, Davy Jones and more and combined with dozens of interviews with coworkers, peers, friends and fans, Provost’s fascinating story gives a real insider’s view of Hollywood, the low down on one of television’s most enduring shows and the effects of fame on a typical American family.
