I know that most of us have been doing audio podcasting. Just wanted to know if any of you are moving into the video arena.

If either yes or no, please explain your answer for including video or not utilizing it.

Thanks!

I have a face for radio. Also, it takes ALOT more time to create a video podcast. Lighting is key (and expensive), and the "mix down" takes longer. Then there is the quesiton of what format to publish at (mp4, HD, windows format, etc). no thanks.

Like Dave, I think my face is more suited to audio than video, but down the road I can imagine my clients asking me to help them with video podcasts. So, eventually I will get a camera and learn how to shoot, edit, etc. I love learning new things, so in a way I'm looking forward to this adventure.

Have you looked at your picture? You DEFINITELY do not just have a face for radio! (and neither does Dave, by the way!). Thanks for the feedback, Donna.

Hi Penny,

I have a suggestion for doing 5 min-10 min video podcasting using Talk Fusion's video email communication tools. You can create the videos using a webcam, video camera, or pre-existing videos. You can use all kinds of movie editing programs, including Movie Maker, which is on your computer (or most, anyway). You can send your video emails to cell phones. You can have your own custom made template created by the professional production staff at the Corporate office, and you can import your email address book into your video email center effortlessly. There is more that you can do, but before I get too carried away, I have created a video email and I am placing the link here, since I didn't have an actual e-mail address. Here you go:

Keep in mind, all you professionals out there, that I am by no means a video production expert, nor, obviously, a professional model.

If you have any questions, just PM me, or call me at 336-471-5686.

I wish you a monster successful day!

I just purchased a video camera and the editing software for it so I can start learning how to use it. I do plan on moving into video podcasting for Heal Yourself Talk Radio it will start out with doing local Health Shows and having speakers from the local area be on the video podcast. That is a few month down the road as I first need to learn how to use my new camera, I have never owned a video camera and I need to learn how to edit videos as well.

I am hoping to venture into this new arena towards the end of the year or early next year. My youngest son will be heading off to school this fall so this will free up more time for me to be able to go into this arena.

I am actually very excited about this new technology and the way it will help me promote HYTR and The Health Podcasting Directory as well.

Debbie, is TalkFusion downloadable, or only streaming? If only streaming, it's not really podcasting.

Hi Penny,

Once you have created you video email and the file formats are created, a link is created. There are no downloads, nor is anything embedded in the e-mail.

I look at someone using this who would want to send out insprirational, instructional, or whatever, emails to individuals found in an address book, say....rather than using a text-based newsletter.

But I do understand what you mean. While not available at this time, I heard recently at a Talk Fusion Meeting in Charlotte, that being able to send the videos to ipods is "in the works". With that being said, I was not told that directly from corporate, but if true, I don't know when that piece of technology will be in place, and if ever. I think when, and if, that happens, it will be announced on the day it is available, rather than giving away any secrets of upcoming upgrades, etc. to our technology.

So no, I agree, it isn't podcasting, but it could be an alternative to sending text-based messages to certain selected groups with a specific message in mind. You would be able to convey so much more with the video than with a text-based e-mail, and are more likely to get the attention of the recipient much easier as well.

As soon as I hear anything definitive concerning Talk Fusion be able to send videos to ipods, I will definitely let you know.
