Does it matter how you showcase a podcast? For example, on Talkshoe.com, podcasts are simply listed one right after the other according to the date they were recorded. However, on my Squidoo lens for an upcoming shopping center festival, I have showcased a single podcast - complete with a JPEG of a web page - as a means to encourage the public to listen to it. I have also added a plexo list and a guest book to involve the public. You see, I believe in the intertwining involvement of the public.

I just recently helped host a free grant-writing seminar. I sent out more than 500 Evite invitations via email. 90% were never even opened. Yet, 111 people RSVP'ed to the event. Where did those folks come from? Answer: Third-party endorsements. There is something amazing that happens when people figure something that is taking place is actually "in their best interest." They not only respond positively, but spread the word. In the case of the grant-writing seminar, folks actually invited friends to attend with them.

I cordially invite you to take a look at my Squidoo lens and become involved with what it is attempting to accomplish. Join Squidoo (it's free). Listen to the Globespan TV program, hosted by Ryze's own Teddy Towncrier. Answer the plexo list question - "Why Attend This Festival?" Sign the Guest Book with an uplifting comment. In so doing, you will be helping to lift a small rural area out of its shell.

Thanks, in advance, for taking the time to show you care.

Lamar .... Your darned tootin' it matters how a podcast is showcased!

"He who has a thing to sell and goes & whispers in a well is not as apt to get the dollars as he ...... Who climbs a tree and hollers".

The interview Towncrier conducted with the Coordinator for Middletown's Spring Fling was crafted to pre-amplify and create anticipation for the facts on the event's Squidoo page.

Both you and I plus several supporters, have ballyhooed these showcases in our blogs and Twitter.      I expect Linda to invest a half hour with TweetLater and schedule tweets up to and including the day of the event and use the high energy interview to nudge folks into exploring your pages and attending.

See ... Are 27 contacts really necessary to make the sale.

Personally ..... I'm head over heels in love with the Twitter/Blog combo for showcasing.   The reach and leverage from Retweets is incredible and the showcasing capabilities of a blog are vital since the blog post can contain video and be used over again many times in subsequent articles. ..... Commenters like blogs because the can use comments to drive visitors to their own resources.

Thanks a million for your generous assistance with this project, Lamar.

Bestest.

Teddy,

You know how to retweet. You have become a member of Squidoo. Now, how do you combine the resources of Twitter with the resources of Squidoo and CONNECT with folks you would not normally be able to contact? Answer: Use the Twitter Grader Search function.
