Here's the situation. I am in the process of creating some "buzz" about both a grant-writing seminar and a spring fling (shopping center festival). I would like to get folks involved with these two events on podcasts. What do I do? How do I find podcasts that would be receptive to having folks from my community as guests? Is there such a thing as a "Podcast Directory" for this sort of thing? I know iTunes has a huge directory of podcasts. But, I do not know that is the right way to proceed. Does anyone know a good and efficient way to do this?

Lamar, the podcasters would only want your local clients on their shows if the businesses had something to do with the podcaster's show. Since you are dealing only with local businesses, you would have to host the local podcast yourself, unless you found podcasters for each industry or niche that your local businesses represent.

Penny,

What I would like to do is talk about a concept that could be used at any shopping center for a festival by its merchants. It just so happens that a local shopping center in my community is doing this for the second time. Therefore, there would definitely be a benefit to anyone who tuned into the program that happened to be involved in a small business that would benefit from a shopping center promotion - whether that business happened to be located in a shopping center or not.

How do you do a shopping center festival? What tools do you need to make it work successfully? How do you promote it? How do you get the news media to show up? These are the kinds of questions that need to be addressed. I want to make myself available to any podcaster who would like to do a podcast about how to make this sort of magic happen in their neck of the woods. While I have my own show on Talkshoe, I would much prefer to get on other shows to talk about this. Or, schedule other members of this particular shopping center as guests to talk about how this works.

So, attention all podcasters on this Ryze network. If you are looking for an interesting guest for one of your shows, please shoot me a private email. We need to connect.
