Penny Haynes | | With all of the talk of the major social networking sites, do you have your own niche-related social networking site?
If you do, are you using Ning or some other software?
Or are you using a major site like Ryze to host a network?
Would you suggest to others to start their own network?
Or do you think there are already too many networks, and another one would add to the glut?
Personally, every time someone asks me to join a new network, I find that there is very little value to it. There are so many networks and so little getting accomplished in them. I was invited to try another one by someone in authority that I respected, but it turned out to be another dud, as far as I can see.
What's your take? When should you and shouldn't you start a network?

Dave Jackson | | As you have seen here starting a forum is not an easy process. I've heard it said that until you get at least 5,000 listeners/viewers that you should pass. Why? Because you will get about 10% of those people to participate. They are like the people in church that come every week, warm the pew, but never participate (but enjoy the message). Nothing against them, and God love them, but without the people who truly participate the church wouldn't survive.
If you do start one, mention it in every podcast. I have one at www.logicalloss.com (a forum) and every time I pull info from it I thank the person who did it, and mention that people can use it as well. Even with that, it's not a hotbed of activity.
