How are YOU using Social Networks and Social Media to promote or create your podcasts?

To build on what I said yesterday about http://www.Utterli.com, I have found it to be a great tool not only for ease of use and many ways to post onto it, but it also lets you cross post to other social networks.

How cool is it to create a podcast, and as soon as you post your latest item, it goes to multiple different social networks and social media sites?

I also use Ping.fm to post to all of the networks the link to my latest podcast or blog post. That way more people know about the topic I am talking about, and may want to check out the post.

I have gone to message boards filled with people that are like my listeners. For example I have a fitness podcast, so I hang out in a forum with people talking about the Biggest Loser TV show. Luckily this forum allows you to put a website in your signature. So every time I post, my link is in that forum.

Brilliant, Dave! Is there a particular social networking site that you find has more involved participants than others? Or are you going to the message board put up by the television network?

And would you be as interested in that network if you couldn't put your website in your signature line? Should people consider that when they are deliberating about which networks they should join?
