Penny Haynes | | Many forums have certain days to feature certain subjects. Perhaps that will help us to get back on track. This is my proposal, and I'd like feedback from all of you regarding how best to do this. All suggestions welcome. I want to help EVERYONE involved prosper, including the Experts who don't need assistance, but have resources that may be helpful to newbies. Of course, posts of any kind are welcome at any time, but this may help structure us.
MONDAY: Podcasting Expert Day - Advanced users share a tip or a new resource you are offering (for free or for sale). Make sure that you put a link back to your business in every post, because posts are visible to search engines. This can help with rankings.
TUESDAY: 'How Do I?' Day - This is for newbies to ask specific questions about how to do something regarding your podcast.
WEDNESDAY: Post A Link To Your Latest Podcast Episode Day - Everyone can put a link to their podcast post and a short description about it.
THURSDAY: Podcasting Resources Day - Name a new podcasting resource you have discovered, or talk about one you use regularly.
FRIDAY: Social Network & Social Media News Day - Talk about how you are using (or can use) different social networks and social media sites in conjunction with your podcast. Share examples and links of how it is being done.
SATURDAY & SUNDAY: Special Offers & Contests Day - if you are offering something special through your podcast, or hosting a contest, share it here. We'll try to support you.
Do you think this structure will help our network get back on track and encourage participation? Or should I add additional Moderators to start conversations on different days? (If so, tell me if you would like to represent Podcasting Experts, Podcasting Newbies, Social Media & Networking Sites, or Podcasting Resources.)

Feel free to post me questions as well, I have been podcasting since August 2006 and now my podcast is on AM Radio out of Boston as well. I hope to be of help to many on here as well as learn a few new tricks and tips myself :)

It would be helpful to know how you marketed your podcast to radio (if that's how it happened). My One Minute How-To is on a couple of radio stations, but they contacted me. I'd love to get my show to stations to use as fillers, as they are always under five minutes in length.

There is also a station in San Francisco that ONLY plays podcasts. http://www.kyouradio.com/ I found that out while researching my book.

Thank you for checking out the Heal Yourself Magazine. However I cannot take credit for that article on Stress Relief from Energy Vampires. That is an article written by By Anna Maria Prezio, Ph.D she is both a guest speaker on Heal Yourself Talk Radio and a contributing author on the Heal Yourself Magazine :)
While I am on that topic for the magazine I am always looking for people who write about health and wellness to include the mind, body and spirit. So if anyone is interested please pm me. I put up about 2-6 new articles a week and if I receive more I input a lot of them and schedule them to go out every few days :)

Heal Yourself Talk Radio started out as a podcast two and half years ago. I still do podcasts 2 times a week on Wednesday and Thursday and on Friday I do the Boston Radio show.
The podcasts and the Boston show are all different.
I started out by doing research, while I do have to pay for air time it has been a wonderful experience and is opening many new doors to the show. Once we have bigger sponsors the air time fees won't be a problem but for now I decided I wanted to go onto real radio.
While I do have to pay for air time, I had to go through a process that took a few weeks to be approved to even be on the Boston and Plymouth Massachusetts radio stations. They had to listen to past shows, hear from speakers, talk to me several times by phone for interviews etc to be sure that Heal Yourself Talk Radio fit on their station.
I market all over and have been doing so since day one. I am on a ton of directories for podcasts, and for blogs since my website is a blog run site. I have many listeners and past speakers who do a lot of spreading the word etc.
In fact I was very happy and shocked to receive an email right before the New Year. Heal Yourself Talk Radio was 1 of the top 50 shows on Blog Talk Radio for 2008! It was for my interview with Patch Adams....it was so exciting to receive that information.
All I can say is keep looking, contacting radio shows that are a fit for your type of information. I had been looking for a radio station for over a year and a half, been through several processes before finally going into the Boston Radio arena.
Don't lose hope :) It may take some time and energy but I am sure you will find a few great stations that could use what you have to offer.

Yes I have been doing the podcast Heal Yourself Talk Radio since August 2006 and they needed to hear how I reacted to guest speakers especially those guests who are difficult and to be perfectly honest my most difficult yet awesome guest speaker was Patch Adams. He is a very passionate man but over the years has become a little bitter against the government and to have to talk to my "hero" and turn his hate remarks around to talk more about his work and what he has been doing for years was a challenge for me. One I feel everyone has the right to say what they think but with being on air sometimes you need to pull back the reigns.
I have done over 400 shows since 2006 and have a lot to show of different types of interviews etc.
Since the Radio show out of Boston is my own show there is not too many rules on what I can and cannot do. It was great to have so many different examples of what I can do with the podcast.
My next goal is to bring HYTR to our local radio stations. The network I am on now for Boston DreamVisions 7 Radio network is expanding over the next few months across the nation. We are working with getting syndicated out of California as well and a couple other stations across the nation.
The great thing is if you are not in the Boston area people can still listen to my show by going to the radio station or the Dreamvisions 7 radio network during the show time 1-2 pm est on Fridays and click on the listen live link and still hear HYTR even if they are not in Boston.
I am not in Boston, I live in Ohio and am able to do my show just like I do my podcasts by calling in to the station, using Yahoo IM to talk to the producers etc during the show and still do a AM radio show :) I just love technology~!
