What is the best way to promote a podcast? Or, perhaps that is not a fair question. There may be no ONE BEST WAY. But, what are some of the cost-effective options?

For example, is it a good idea to place a classified or display ad in a newspaper about a podcast? Or, is that simply throwing money down the drain.
