As you have seen here starting a forum is not an easy process. I've heard it said that until you get at least 5,000 listeners/viewers that you should pass. Why? Because you will get about 10% of those people to participate. They are like the people in church that come every week, warm the pew, but never participate (but enjoy the message). Nothing against them, and God love them, but without the people who truly participate the church wouldn't survive.
If you do start one, mention it in every podcast. I have one at www.logicalloss.com (a forum) and every time I pull info from it I thank the person who did it, and mention that people can use it as well. Even with that, it's not a hotbed of activity.
