Questions About Podcamps |

Hi Lamar,
The owner of the MySQL meetup, here in Mumbai / India is facing a similar kind of problem.
He's been trying to get people already registered with the MySQL meetup to attend offline meetings, unsuccessfully.
These meetups normally take place at a conveniently located CCD or Barista.
Since I've written and published several MySQL books, I've offered the MySQL meetup owner 5 of my books free. These books will be given to the first five attendees of the MySQL meetup on the next scheduled meetup end October by the MySQL meetup owner.
Since I have brand value here, we are hoping that people will attend the meetup to get a personally dedicated MySQL book F.O.C.
Hopefully, this may bring in people to the meetup.
Perhaps you can try the same tack.
Maybe you can offer: A one day, intensive Podcast training program, 0900am to 0400pm for the first five people who turn up at the Mall OR A one day, fully paid up, subscription to: http://www.mightyseek.com/podpress/podpress-tutorial/ (The value of a single day's subscription is USD 5/- only) To the 1st five people who turn up at the Mall Total Value - USD 25/-
Most people who think of attending such meetups first consider what they would get in return for the time they are committing. If they cannot see anything of value they do not come.
I think this is much the same in any part of the world.
Perhaps, you've got to give a little to gain a bit in return.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Ivan Bayross
