Questions About Podcamps

How difficult is it to prepare for a podcamp? Is this something that takes months of preparation? Or, can a few folks simply agree to go to a location where there is FREE Wi-Fi with a laptop computer or Internet tablet and MAKE IT HAPPEN? The reason I ask this question is because the shopping center below in the poster happens to be Wi-Fi enabled. It also happens to be having a party on Saturday, October 18th. I would love to get a group of podcast enthusiasts together at this shopping center, but am clueless as to how to proceed. Any advice out there?
